Google Pixel Fold
I thought that it would be time to try a new technology. Folding phones piqued my interest and so I made plans to switch away from my Samsung A52 to a Google Pixel 9 Fold.
TLDR; I absolutely love it. It isn’t perfect, but it is well worth the move in my honest opinion.
What I love about it.
- The folding screen. Multitasking is amazing on the big screen. I don’t have to use it for work but having Twitter open while watching YouTube is pretty great.
- Native Google applications for everything ( Maps, Search, Gmail, etc) all just work better on the Pixel
- Customized home screens with widgets are great. Apple has caught up a bit with these, but the fruit is still lagging Android
What I don’t like about it.
- It’s heavier than a normal phone. Granted it has 2 screens, but it gets a little tiring holding it in one hand for a period of time
- The lack of accessories for it shows that it remains a niche product
- The soft inner screen makes it prone to scratches. There have been a few horror stories on Reddit where owners have broken their device through just a little force.
Overall, I’m still very happy with the purchase and I don’t myself returning to Samsung or Apple.
